Dr. Manita Timilsina

Dr. Manita Timilsina is civil engineer with specialization in geotechnical engineering and geodisaster researchers working for landslide, floods, and earthquakes. She is currently engaged with GSI as executive director. She holds a BE degree in Civil Engineering from Pokhara University, ME and Ph.D. in Disaster Mitigation and Management from Ehime University, Japan. She has published more than 12 technical papers in peer-reviewed international and national journals on geotechnical engineering focusing on earthquake, rainfall and floods in Nepal and Japan. She has also written a few chapters in two books. She has worked on various research projects, GIS training courses, and consulting projects related to geodisasters. She is Editor of Springer Open-Access journal Geoenvironmental Disasters. She is also a member of Nepal Geotechnical Society, Nepal Engineering Association, Himalayan Landslide Society, and Nepalese Society of Engineering Geologists.
