  • GSI carried out the preliminary geological and geotechnical investigation of cable car alignment from Ghorahi, Dang to Swargadwari, Pyuthan in two stages with a connecting hill road. Walkover survey of the alignment with especial emphasis on geological and geotechnical setting of proposed tower locations was carried out. The ropeway alignment was divided into two segments of 2.59 km (Ghorahi to Dhimdhime Danda) and 8.16 km (Kaulepani to Swargadwari).

  • Our team carried out preliminary evaluation of geotechnical and structural damage of the building located at Bhagwati Bahal, Naxal, and Kathmandu due to the collapse of road section between Naxal Bhagwati and Nepal Police HQ due to failure of protection piles in deep excavation and successive ground failures. We performed various field tests including determination of water table gradient, dynamic cone penetration test (DCPT), evaluation of structural and non-structural damages to provide immediate precautionary measures to the client.

  • Our team is carrying out planning, management and execution of core drilling works at Ratu Khola, Bardibas up-to 100 m depth and undisturbed core sample extraction for the purpose of earthquake research being carried out by Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) using two core drilling machines and trained drilling manpower.

  • Identifying the extent of damage to the structural and non-structural components for prescribing repair and reconstruction work where needed. Evaluate seismic capacity of the structure based on existing site conditions by rigorous numerical modeling and analysis.
  • Detailed geotechnical investigation with drilling work was carried out to identify the bearing capacity of the soil. As subsidence was prominent is the building, drilling data was very useful to identify the causes of subsidence and propose remedies.
